The Diverse Birth Collective

Meet the team

Nytasha Stevens, CLC Since I was a young girl I have loved being around pregnancy and babies.  It’s so magical to watch birthing bodies grow and then meet their babies face to face for the 1st time!!  It keeps getting better watching that baby get bigger and discover the things around them!!  Being a mom of 5 myself with a 21 year age gap between the oldest and youngest, I realize that it’s deeper than maternity shoots and baby shower’s!!  That’s why I will always continue to learn and grow in the field of maternal health! I am a birth and postpartum doula, supporting families before and after baby is born!  I’m also a certified lactation counselor, and I teach childbirth education by way of HypnoBirthing!  As a car seat technician I make sure that your travels with your babies are the safest they can be by installing, and teaching parents how to safely install, their car seats.  My goal as a birth worker is to listen, encourage, and support.  Oh, and of course get a peek at your baby, but that’s one of many perks of this career that chose me!!

Raegan Gibson founded Sweets and Soirées in 2008 as an outlet for her creativity, her love of the culinary arts and a desire to make beautiful things.  While desserts and confectionary delights are her first love and her gateway into the business of food, once in the kitchen, she is as comfortable whipping up a vegetarian barbecue dinner as she is a four course plated meal for her pop-up dinners.  No matter the size of the event, her main focus has been providing delicious food that people will talk about long after the event, with an unmatched level of service in an environment where clients easily become more like friends and family. http://www.sweetsandsoirees.com

My name is Shanea and I am a birth and postpartum doula. I am from the Hampton Roads area but have been in the Richmond area for over seven years. I have loved all things birth since I was a little girl. The news of my pregnancy with my son that is now 4 birthed my doula journey. Every woman deserves a doula to help maneuver, process, and achieve their birth goals/outcomes. I have a holistic approach to birth and life so if you love all things natural/crunchy I’m your girl. I am also a Virginia Freedom Fighter in the fight for medical freedom.

Oollo, i’m jess (they|them)! i’m a non binary birth&postpartum doula,  embodiment life coach, somatic movement practitioner, and holistic health advocate (in short – a hippie). I’m proud parent to a beautiful baby boy and a victor of sexual assault. i love all things science, herbal, spiritual, and sensuality centered. i strongly believe in the connection and union you, your body, your baby, and your mindset have. i trust that you’re beyond capable and i’m simply here to assist you in conceptualizing your potential. i’m so excited to work along side you!

Hi there! My name is Karynne Campbell and I’m a birth and postpartum doula specializing in all things natural birth and freebirth. My passion for pregnancy and birth began when I was 4 years old and became a big sister. I became a doula in 2020 and have since aided families of color through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journeys. I fell in love with the freedom and empowerment that giving birth can bring after giving birth unassisted and at home to my daughter in 2021. I am an advocate for using the body’s natural intuition to achieve autonomous birth and for birthing folks to be given the platform and space to be able to achieve the birth of their dreams.

Peace, I’m mama Tu. Holistic Certified Doula, childbirth educator, birth coach, & postpartum chef. Along with that I advocate for breastfeeding mothers. I’m a boy mom, lover of books, plants, & babies. My love for birth work began at the birth of my first son. We had a complicated birth that end up in a C-sections & Nicu experience.

Feeling alone, uneducated, confused. I decided I wanted to be on the other side. After a intense training 2 year program, mentorship, and guidance I am now educating BIPOC moms and birthing people on how to fearlessly birth with ancestral tradition.

Tu will serve Richmond, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Stafford, KG, Charles County Maryland.
